Enchanted Strands Mala Making Workshop

with Hana Pepin

Date: Saturday, March 3rd
Time: 12:30-2:30p
Normal Heights – East Room

Crystals have been used for a long time to aid in the healing of our culture and throughout time have been held as marvelous healing tools. Everything is vibration and thus certain crystal carry certain vibrations that awaken, activate, heal, cleanse and purify our energies.

Discover the crystals which aid with aligning your planetary blueprint. Based on your birthdate we will explore the crystals that aid and assist you in the art of manifestation, intention and motivation. Chant and reveal the sacred energy you carry all the time while learning new mantras in English and in Sanskrit.

Everything is a fixed sound, vibration, or frequency. Different frequencies create different sounds the same way an orchestra has different instruments yet creates the perfect collaboration of a song. Vedic mantras (Suktas or Stotras) are the oldest and most powerful of all voice sounds, songs, or hymns. Besides the name and the seed sound of each planet, these verses aim at warding off negative energy and promote positive energies through an attunement of speech, mind and will to the divine forces of the universe that work through the planets. These hymn are largely an expression of devotion (Bhakti) and reverence for the planetary deities and their powers. By reciting, we worship God in the many aspects and forms, through the planets, recognizing the planets as manifestations of a higher spiritual intelligence. We will focus on the Special Navagrapha Stotras or nine-planet hymns.

“Each bead is a seed of love to the flower of infinite wisdom and oneness that lies within us. The string is the universal self, existing in everything! The beads are you and I, the unique expressions of the whole.

Together we grow in the garden of eternal bliss”.

$45 single; $75 Bring a friend.

Hip-opening postures can feel like a wonderful release, or a pain in the butt (literally)! But whether you love or despise them, this workshop is for you. Because the hips function as a bridge between the upper and lower body, unlocking the hips can promote greater ease and fluidity in the joints and muscles both above and below. In this workshop you will learn how to cultivate a sense of relaxation and openness on and off the yoga mat by working steadily, but compassionately, with the hips while practicing the art of going easily with the flow of your life.

In this 2-hour workshop, you will:
– Practice a sequence of postures that will access deep stretch in order to release tension in all facets of the hip joints.
– Learn about the anatomy of the hips, pelvis and lower body to gain a better understanding of the groups of bones and muscles involved in hip-opening postures.
– Experience Yang (active stretch) and Yin (passive stretch) hip-openers.
– Learn about the subtle anatomy of the hips from a yoga perspective, including exploration of the 2nd chakra.
– Learn adaptations and modifications for the most common hip-opening poses to stay safe in class and in your home practice.
