Touch of Thai

Time: 7:00-9:00p
Normal Heights – Main Studio

This 2.5 hour class is a joyous romp through the world of healing touch as it is known in Thailand. You may find yourself being gently pulled into a glorious twist, or perhaps you will be therapeutically sitting on someone’s leg. You read that right. In Thai massage, we like to sit on people, walk on people, and stretch them out in all kinds of ways. It’s like yoga for lazy people! This class will not only teach you how to give and receive this unusual and amazing form of bodywork, but you will learn some relaxing meditation techniques and a little about the history and culture of Thailand as well. So the next time you walk into a Thai restaurant, you will be able to greet your hosts in Thai, thank them for the delicious meal and give them a Thai massage!

Jadi Engels, MA, RYT, INHC, is a yoga, meditation, and Thai bodywork student and teacher in Santa Monica, CA. She is so grateful to have come into union with these practices and teachings, and for how they continue to transform her experience of life. Her passion is in sharing yogic and other philosophical teachings and practices in a way that directly relates to living in the modern world with greater ease.
