Chakras, or wheels of energy, correspond to areas in the body. If an area of our lives is out of balance, it can manifest as an imbalance in that chakra and lead to pain, discomfort, or a feeling of uneasiness. And vice versa! There are seven main chakras. Over the past few weeks I’ve broken down the basics of each of these seven here in this blog and in the Wednesday, 8:00am, Yoga 1 class at the North Park studio. We also balanced the general energy field of the aura, sometimes referred to as the 8th chakra). Remember, everyone feels different emotions and sees different colors, the information here is just a guideline.
This week we practice balancing all of the chakras and tuning in to see which one(s) need special attention.
Root/Muladhara: I AM. All of my basic needs are provided for and I am at home on this earth. I am safe.
Sacral/Svadistana: I FEEL. My desires are natural, I trust my senses, and I flow with ease through the rhythms of life.
Solar Plexus/Manipura: I DO. I graciously accept and fearlessly activate my power and strength.
Heart/Anahata: I LOVE. I open myself to the good within all beings. I open myself to the good within me.
Throat/Vishuddha: I SPEAK. I trust my voice. I hear and speak my truth.
Third Eye/Ajna: I SEE. I am awake and trust my intuition. I ask my third eye to open its eyelid so I may connect to a deep sense of inner peace and knowing.
Crown/Sahasrara: I UNDERSTAND. I am more than my physical body and my thoughts. I am open to a life beyond my wildest dreams.
Aura: I EMBODY. I see my aura growing brighter and more beautiful. I contribute to a world of peace through every breath, word, and action.
