Grab the Bull by the Horns by Megan Scollay-Casillas

The world’s oldest yoga instructor, Master Tao Porchon- Lynch turned 95 this month and I have say I am completely inspired. Still being new in my yoga practice and certainly a novice yoga instructor, it’s hard for me to wrap my mind around the depth of knowledge Master Tao Porchon-Lynch must have. However, what struck me most about her, in the several articles I read, is how extremely joyful she is. Not just joyful, but optimistic!

In one article on YogaDork she advised, “Don’t procrastinate. If you want to do something, remember that one minute after midnight, it’s already today.” This struck a cord with me. I know, I know, this should be the cardinal rule for every go-getter. To delay doing what is necessary to reach a goal is only to postpone the life you want, right? But isn’t it the ultimate challenge to keep moving forward? To continue growing? Even the most proactive and successful person can be thrown off course by life’s little road bumps.

If you can take away anything from Master Tao Porchon-Lynch, it’s that she has created the life she wants for herself, and so can you! She started teaching when she was in her 70s! Talk about the power of dedication to one’s passion and finding your bliss! So, I am challenging you, as I am challenging myself, to solidify your aspirations. I am challenging you to think about what steps you are taking, today, to reach those goals. Grab the bull by the horns and create your perfect life!
