Ford
Peck
Ford was born and raised in the
Midwest, then attended school and college on the East Coast for seven
years. His interest in meditation was first sparked when, at the age of
16, he attended a lecture by a researcher from Beth Israel Hospital’s
Mind Body Group. He practiced their “relaxation response” in both high
school and college and began to discover that it could bring about an
experience of deeply centered peacefulness and joy.
Ford began practicing yoga in 1986.
He moved to San Diego in 1988 where he lived and worked at a meditation
and yoga center for three years. He began teaching yoga in 1990.
Ford’s interest in spirituality has
led him to study with numerous teachers over the years, including
Gangaji, Thich Nhat Hanh, Ammachi, and Adyashanti.
All of these teachers have helped cultivate in Ford a love of direct
spiritual discovery beyond any belief system or dogma.
Ford has made three trips to India
which were dedicated to deepening his study of yoga, meditation, and
spirituality. On his second trip to India, he discovered and fell in
love with Tibetan Buddhist meditation which he has studied and practiced
intensively.

Ford’s yoga teaching is inspired by
his love of meditation, and he strives to bring a meditative awareness
to the flow of his classes. He has found that bringing this quality of
awareness to yoga practice can allow an exquisite opening to take place
in body, mind and emotions. This opening can reveal great well-being and
love which can then inspire how we live our lives.
Ford has a private practice in
massage therapy, private yoga instruction, and spiritually-based life
coaching. For more information, you may contact him directly at
